The Prime Minister has announced that steps being taken from March through to June 2021 to enable restrictions to be lifted gradually in England.

Step 1. From 8th March. Schools re-open. From 29 March, people can meet socially outdoors in groups of six or two households. Stay at Home rule ends.

Step 2. From Monday 12th April pub gardens, non-essential shops, personal services (hairdressers etc.) can re-open with precautions.

Step 3. No earlier than 17th May. Group of six or two households can meet indoors. Still no groups larger than 30 can meet. Indoor events venues can begin to open up and sporting events outdoors can be held with limited crowds.

Step 4. No earlier than 21st June. Government hopes to release all restrictions on social contact. All remaining businesses, including night clubs, may now re-open.

Both Kibworth parish councils are extremely grateful to the volunteers who are doing so much to keep residents updated, streets covered by local contacts, sources of help and facilities available to us all.

In time this page will hopefully become a central source of information for everybody. Please let us know of any mistakes or additional information we can include.

Data has now been received by the County Council in respect of those Leicestershire residents who have registered with the Government website. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies and at this stage no details of what are vulnerable patients' data are being passed on further.

The immediate action is to make personal contact with everyone who has registered and who has said that some form of support is required. This is being done through Leicestershire County Council's Customer Service Centre (0116 305 0001) to which specialist staff have been assigned and the numbers of staff increased. We need to be as clear as possible as to the form of support.

As stated previously:

• Support with getting medication
  This will be provided through community pharmacy and primary care services and organised centrally, i.e. by the Government, NHS England
• Support with getting food
  This support will be provided by delivery of food parcels direct to people's doors on a weekly basis and organised centrally, i.e. by the Government (MHCLG) through contractors
• Support with social isolation
  This support will be determined by the need identified and be organised locally and delivered by volunteers linked to local hubs*
• Other welfare support
  This support will be determined by the need identified and be organised locally and delivered by volunteers linked to local hubs*

*Local hubs are being set up by the district councils - in our case Harborough District Council. It is recognised that the coordination role and working with existing voluntary organisations and the current and growing volunteer effort are substantial tasks. There is still a lack of clarity about the Government's intentions for the NHS Volunteer Responders Scheme to support local government.
